Rosmorport orders two dual-fuel icebreakers from local yard

Russian port operator Rosmorport has placed an order for two Project 23620 dual-fuel icebreakers to be built by Onego Shipyard.

The vessels will be able to navigate through ice up to 1.5 metres thick. These will also have an unlimited navigation area as well as the ability to operate year-round in the Baltic, White, and Barents Seas and further out in the Pacific Basin.

The icebreakers’ dual-fuel engines will be built to run on either LNG or conventional marine fuel.
