Huangpu Wenchong awarded research ship contract
Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding has been awarded a new construction contract for a geophysical scientific research vessel.
The vessel will be operated by the Chinese Academy of Science’s South China Sea Institute of Oceanology upon delivery.
The vessel will have an all-steel hull, a displacement of 3,615 tonnes, an LOA of 90 metres, accommodations for 60 people, a range of 12,000 nautical miles, and a DP1 system.
