Simwave opens simulation suite

Simwave has completed the site acceptance test (SAT) for its maritime simulation suite at Barendrecht, Rotterdam.

The training facility at the Simwave Maritime Centre of Excellence covers more than 5,000 square metres across two floors containing simulators, meeting rooms, offices and welfare facilities.

The next step in the project is to develop a hotel facility on the top floor of the building for customers and trainees, enabling training to occur 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Kongsberg Digital created a floor projection system and a complete integrated engine room for the suite.

The facility includes multiple full-mission and part-task simulators for ship’s bridge and engine room operations, all based on the latest simulator technology platforms.
