Thai builder unveils passenger-carrying landing craft prototype

SeaCat Ships of Thailand has completed construction of the first example of a new series of landing craft capable of carrying 12 passengers plus cargo.

The 9.3-metre, aluminium-hulled Maid of Iron was designed in accordance with Australian NSCV Class 2C for coastal operations. Two OXE 200 diesel outboards deliver a speed of over 32 knots.

The vessel will be operated by an undisclosed owner in Australia.
