Yantar launches first Project 23700 rescue ship

United Shipbuilding Corporation’s (USC) Yantar Baltic Shipbuilding Plant launched Voyevoda (“Governor”), the lead ship of the Project 23700 series of rescue vessels, on Monday, November 11.

Once completed, the vessel will have a length of 111 metres, a beam of 24 metres, a displacement of 7,500 tonnes, a speed of 24 knots, and deck space for four small boats and two helicopters.

Voyevoda is scheduled to be delivered to Russia’s Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport (Rosmorrechflot) in 2020.
