Russian Navy’s newest Project 23370M SAR boat completes builder’s trials

The builder’s trials of SMK-2187, a Project 23370M multi-functional modular boat built for the rescue detachment of the Northeastern Troops and Forces, have been completed in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

The boat’s seaworthiness, manoeuvrability, navigation devices’ operation, and ship systems were tested.

SMK-2187 is the fifteenth boat in the Project 23370M class of multi-functional modular search and rescue catamarans being built for the Russian Navy.

The vessel will be commissioned into the Russian Pacific Fleet’s Kamchatka rescue service.

The Project 23370M boats have a length of 24.2 metres, a width of 8.5 metres, a draught of 1.4 metres, a displacement of 136 tonnes, a speed of 13 knots, a cruising radius of 217 nautical miles, and a crew of 12.
