Romanian sea rescue service expands workboat fleet
Romanian maritime search and rescue (SAR) organisation ARSVOM has taken delivery of two newbuild vessels from Estonian builder Baltic Workboats.
Recently added to the ARSVOM fleet are Theia, a 16-metre patrol and SAR boat (pictured), and Gaia, an 18-metre oil spill response vessel. Gaia is a near-identical sister of Maia, which was delivered by Baltic Workboats in 2020.
Both vessels are also equipped for firefighting duties and can reach speeds in excess of 25 knots.
