Research ship Akademik Alexandrov begins acceptance trials
The Russian Navy has begun conducting acceptance trials of the recently delivered Project 20183 research vessel Akademik Alexandrov.
The week-long series of tests will determine how the vessel’s design and onboard systems and mechanisms will fare under normal operating conditions.
Built by United Shipbuilding Corporation’s (USC) Zvezdochka Shipyard, Akademik Alexandrov will also be used for personnel and cargo transport as well as search and rescue (SAR).
