Irish builder Safehaven Marine has completed construction of a new self-righting search and rescue (SAR) boat for the Faroe Islands Rescue Service.

The 15-metre Von is powered by two Scania D13 engines connected to HamiltonJet units. This arrangement propels the craft to a maximum speed of 35 knots.

The main cabin has shock-mitigating seats for a crew of five as well as other personnel including a stretcher-bound patient. The forward accommodation area meanwhile has berths, a galley, toilets, and additional seating.

Von will soon join near identical sister Sverri, which was delivered by Safehaven in 2013.
