ICE-SAR’s newest rescue boats to be built in Finland

The Icelandic Search and Rescue Association (ICE-SAR) has awarded Kewatec AluBoat of Finland a contract for the construction of three new rescue craft in a series.

The contract for the three vessels is valued at approximately €5.7 million (US$6.72). If ICE-SAR exercises options for an additional 10 vessels, the contract value will be approximately €25 million (US$29.4 million).

Each rescue craft will have a length of 17 metres and self-righting ability. Construction will commence in October 2021.

Deliveries of the first three units will take place between late June 2022 and the third quarter of 2023.
