Gibraltar fire department’s newest rescue boat enters service

The Town of Gibraltar Fire Department in Door County, Wisconsin, has placed a new rescue boat into service.

The 28-foot (8.5-metre) craft was built by Lake Assault Boats to provide emergency response and firefighting services for the shoreline and island communities within Lake Michigan’s Green Bay.

The boat is equipped with a double plated forward hull section for protection against rocks when pulling onto shore, a portable fire pump, a forward looking infrared (FLIR) camera, sonar, a helm station with touchscreens, and two Suzuki 300hp (223kW) outboard engines.
