Coastguard New Zealand’s impressive new rescue RIB

The AMF Boat Company of Tauranga, New Zealand has delivered a 9.5-metre rescue RIB to a local unit of Coastguard New Zealand.

North Shore Rescue is the second RIB that AMF has designed and built for Coastguard North Shore, a volunteer marine rescue group based out of Browns Bay on the East Coast Bays. She joins more than 90 other dedicated rescue vessels in operation with Coastguard NZ around the nation that are crewed by more than 2,000 volunteers.

The vessel has been constructed from 5083 grade marine aluminium, with 4mm plate used for the deck and superstructure and 8mm used for the hull.

A full review of North Shore Rescue will appear in the September/October issue of Ausmarine magazine.
