Alabama-based Silver Ships has delivered a new open centre console rigid inflatable boat (RIB) to the US Navy.

Officially designated as a special warfare surface support craft (SSC), the RIB will be used primarily for training and support of swim and dive operations, among other missions.

The boat has an LOA of 41 feet (12.4 metres) including the two outboard engines, a beam of 10 feet (three metres), and a hull designed to meet ABS rules For High Speed Naval Craft. The navigation electronics includes a Furuno radar.
