Naarden Lifeboat Brigade gets new Damen RHIB

Damen Shipyards Group has delivered a new rigid hull inflatable boat (RHIB) to the Naarden Lifeboat Brigade, a volunteer search and rescue (SAR) organisation based in the Dutch province of North Holland.

The RHIB, which has been named Promers, will be used to conduct rescue operations on the Gooimeer, IJmeer, and southern Markermeer lakes.

The newbuild was completed at Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld. It measures 9.75 by 3.3 metres and is powered by two Volvo Penta D6 275kW inboard engines that can deliver speeds in excess of 50 knots.

The RHIB also has space for four crew and up to 25 rescue personnel as well as a dedicated bollard for towing other vessels in the event of engine failure or grounding.
