Western Australia builder expands pilot boat product range

Western Australia-based boatbuilder Dongara Marine has added two new models to its core pilot boat product range.

As with the company’s flagship 19.2-metre pilot boat, the newer 16- and 17-metre variants were also designed by Southerly Designs.

The boats’ engines and layouts may be customised to cater to specific operator requirements. Propulsion options include conventional propellers, waterjets, and steerable IPS drives.

Dongara managing director Rohan Warr said the product line expansion was done to help address the growing need for vessels that could operate within the diverse range of conditions in Australia’s ports as well as overseas.
