Pakistani port operator takes delivery of Turkish-built pilot boats

The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) in Karachi, Pakistan, recently took delivery of two new pilot boats in a series from Sanmar Shipyards of Turkey.

Heer and Sassi each have an LOA of 20.5 metres, a moulded beam of 5.5 metres, a draught of 1.61 metres, and a displacement of 62 tonnes. The boat’s diesel propulsion will deliver speeds in excess of 20 knots.

Design work on the vessels was provided by Turkish company Endaze Marine Engineering.
