Louisiana pilotage operator welcomes new boat to fleet

Associated Federal Pilots of Venice, Louisiana, recently took delivery of a new pilot boat from Gladding Hearn Shipbuilding.

The Ray Hunt-designed Capt. Bob Moore has a length of 52.6 feet (16 metres), a beam of 16.8 feet (five metres), a draught of 3.1 feet (0.9 metres), and cabin seating for up to six pilots/passengers. Two Volvo Penta D16 641hp (477kW) engines deliver a maximum speed of 26 knots.

The accommodation spaces include a forecastle berth, a toilet, and a storage area for safety gear.

The transom also features a man overboard rescue platform.
