Cromarty Firth welcomes new pilot boat

The Port of Cromarty Firth in Invergordon, Scotland, has taken delivery of a new pilot boat from Irish builder Safehaven Marine.

Named Dalmore, the custom-built vessel has an LOA of 15 metres, a beam of 4.4 metres, a displacement of 17 tonnes, capacity for six pilots plus crew in an air-conditioned main cabin, and two Volvo D13 372kW engines delivering operational speeds of 24 to 26 knots.

The £600,000 (US$730,000) vessel will replace the port’s current pilot boat, which has been in service for 45 years.
