Best Small Pilot Boat – Balblair – Safehaven Marine

Following in a long line of ever more refined and very seaworthy vessels, this small example of a Safehaven pilot boat has been chosen for operations on and around Scotland’s Cromarty Firth.

An immensely capable and very safe craft, she will serve her very demanding owners very well.

“The boat combines the ability to operate in the often harsh conditions prevalent in the North Sea and coast of Scotland with economical running costs due to the efficient hull design,” Safehaven told Baird Maritime. “This was a particularly easy build as it was the second boat in a series supplied to the same customer following the first vessel delivered in 2019.”

The builder said it had a very busy year in 2022 with five pilot vessels supplied to global customers.

“Even considering the impact of Covid-19,” said Safehaven, “we saw no reduction in orders and managed to maintain our full production capability. We even have a full orderbook for 2024.”
