The Greater Copenhagen Fire Department has awarded Tuco Marine a contract for a multi-mission first responder boat for operations in Copenhagen waters.
The vessel is designed to accommodate first responder specialists and their equipment in addition to a helmsman and crewmember. The hull will be specially adapted to ensure the vessel has both adequate stability and a low draught so that it will not run aground in shallow waters.
The boat will be equipped with IPS drives and a deep V-hull to guarantee agility and seaworthiness for extended operations even under changing weather conditions.
The first responder equipment will include communications gear, fire-fighting equipment, and an onboard crane system built into the boat’s structure to protect it against adverse conditions.
The boat will be built from lightweight materials to ensure low weight, high fuel efficiency, and low emission of greenhouse gases. It will be able to reach speeds in excess of 25 knots.
