The Port of Hamburg recently held a formal naming ceremony for its two newest fireboats.

Dresden and Prag are both hybrid-powered low-emission vessels that also feature shore charging capability. Each has a length of 35.3 metres, a beam of 7.8 metres, a draught of 1.8 metres, and a speed of 12 knots.

The names for the boats were chosen to honour the twin cities of Dresden in Germany and Prague in the Czech Republic. A significant portion of the shipping traffic of both cities is handled by the Port of Hamburg.
