New response craft delivered to North Carolina fire and rescue agency

EMERGENCY SERVICES WEEK

The Sherrills Ford-Terrell Fire and Rescue Department in North Carolina recently took delivery of a new response craft from Lake Assault Boats of Wisconsin.

The 8.5-metre boat is powered by two Mercury Verado 260kW outboard engines and is equipped with a fire pump with a dedicated V8 engine and a fire monitor.

The pilothouse provides protection from the elements and is equipped with a forward leaning windshield, safety glass all around, sliding windows, lockable storage, a fold-down workstation, and an automatic fire suppression system below deck. The onboard electronics include dual touchscreens mounted on the dashboard, Garmin radar and sonar, a chart plotter, and a forward looking infrared (FLIR) system.
