New response boat delivered to Detroit Fire Department

EMERGENCY SERVICES WEEK

Silver Ships recently delivered a custom fire and rescue boat to the Detroit Fire Department in Detroit, Michigan.

The newbuild has a length of 9.7 metres and is powered by two Mercury four-stroke engines. The firefighting equipment includes a Darley LSDE1000 fire pump with a rated output of 3,700 litres per minutes and an Elkhart Brass Copperhead 8593-0X manual fire monitor.

Two clear opening dive doors are mounted on each side of the vessel, and a fully enclosed pilothouse protects operators from the elements and allows for the crew to be comfortable on the water for long periods of time if needed.
