Lake Assault Boats has delivered a new aluminium fire and rescue craft to the Owasco Fire Department in Auburn, New York.

The newbuild has a length of 7.9 metres, a beam of 2.8 metres, a carrying capacity of 1,587 kilograms, and twin Yamaha 167kW four-stroke outboard engines.

Other features on the craft include a Darley fire pump powered by a dedicated 4.3-litre engine, a FLIR camera, and connections for a large diameter hose (LDH) to support ground-based firefighting operations.

The new craft was ordered as a replacement for the department’s 1991-built Boston Whaler boat.
