Jianglong Shipbuilding floats out new firefighting catamaran

Jianglong Shipbuilding has launched a new catamaran firefighting vessel that will be operated by the Safety Emergency Centre of the Huizhou Daya Bay Petrochemical Industrial Park in China’s Guangdong province.

Once completed, Huiwanxiao 1 will have an LOA of 46 metres, a beam of 12.8 metres, a displacement of over 600 tonnes, and a speed of 15 knots. The firefighting equipment will include seven water/foam monitors that may be controlled remotely from the bridge.

Huiwanxiao 1 will also serve as a mother ship for two small, high-speed firefighting boats, each of which will be equipped with a firefighting pump with water/foam monitor.
