The Canadian Government is investing CA$18.5 million (US$14.2 million) in small fishing craft harbour improvement projects across Labrador, and CA$42 million in projects across Nova Scotia over the next three years.

The investment will cover repairs to 34 small craft harbours across the province. Repairs will include wharf construction and upgrades, breakwater construction or repairs, dredging, containment cell construction, and repairs ahead of divestitures.

Canada is investing CA$250 million over two years to renew its network of small craft harbours, in addition to CA$100 million that will be invested in 2018-19 for repairs, maintenance, construction, and dredging at core commercial fishing harbours across Canada.
