The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) station in Barmouth welcomed a new vessel on Sunday, March 10.

The Shannon-class boat Ella Larsen is slated to take over as Barmouth RNLI’s lifeboat from Moira Barrie, which has been serving the small South Wales community for 26 years.

The first Barmouth RNLI lifeboat to be powered by waterjets instead of traditional propellers, Ella Larsen can reach speeds in excess of 25 knots.
