Brazos Pilots Association takes delivery of new vessel
The Brazos Pilots Association of Freeport, Texas has taken delivery of a custom-welded aluminium pilot boat from Metal Shark.
The vessel, named Brazos Pilot, is a 19.5- by 5.79-metre monohull pilot boat designed by Metal Shark and built at the company’s Franklin, Louisiana shipyard.
The vessel’s twin Caterpillar C18 598kW diesel engines give it a nominal cruising speed of 18 knots and a maximum speed in excess of 28 knots.
