Tamsen delivers search and rescue boat

Tamsen Maritim delivered a search and rescue boat to DGzRS (German Maritime Search and Rescue Service) in June and is scheduled to deliver another six vessels to the search and rescue service.

The boat measures at 10.1 metres by 3.61 metres with a draught just under one metre.

The vessel is powered by a single Cummins QSB6.7-M engine producing 280kW at 3,000rpm. turning a single propeller through a ZF286A marine gear.

This will give the boat a 20-knot speed and, for towing coastal vessels out of danger, a 2.5-tonne bollard pull.

In addition to their towing potential; the boats have well equipped medical facilities, updated navigational equipment and portable pumps.

DGzRS is also scheduled to receive another three SAR boats from another German yard.
