Al Seer and Rafnar begin work on USVs

Al Seer Marine has signed a cooperation agreement with Icelandic company Rafnar for the development of a new range of manned and unmanned surface vessels (USV).

Al Seer will convert one of Rafnar’s hull platforms, designed with an emphasis on stability, with the aim of creating a more stable USV platform.

Rafnar hull designs achieve stability by reducing wave slamming impacts by up to 95 per cent.

While the partnership focuses primarily on offering future USV platforms, the companies also agreed to a cooperation for the production of Rafnar vessels, with Al Seer Marine agreeing to subcontract builds for Rafnar in Abu Dhabi under the Al Seer Marine license.
