Cairns Coast Guard’s newest rescue boat hits the water

Yamba Welding and Engineering has floated out a new rigid inflatable boat (RIB) ordered by the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard.

The Naiad-designed Rotary Spirit will operate primarily in the waters off Cairns from Batt Reef in the north to High Island in the south.

The boat measures 11.3 metres long and is powered by two outboard engines. The onboard electronics include a Raymarine radar.
