Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation has revealed that a UN World Food Programme vessel off Hodeidah port was attacked this weekend.

“The vessel traffic office received a distress call from the Vos Theia at 1730 (1430 GMT) on Sunday, June 3, 2018 about a fire in the vessel resulting from an external attack,” the port authority revealed.

The vessel was attacked after delivering its shipment and it was reported that a fire had started in the engine room.

The YRSPC has condemned the attack and said it believes it was carried out by the Arab Alliance.
