Irish builder Safehaven Marine has completed construction of a new self-righting pilot boat ordered by River Plate Pilots of Uruguay.

Named Belgrano after a famed Argentine general, the newbuild has a length of 15 metres, seating for up to 10 people, and an air-conditioned cabin with full live aboard crew facilities. Two Volvo D13 372kW engines deliver an operational speed of 25 knots.

The boat will be operated out of the Port of Montevideo.
