Following a competitive tender process, the Port of Waterford in southeastern Ireland has selected local shipbuilder Safehaven Marine to supply a new pilot boat for its operations.

The 15-metre vessel will be christened Port Láirge, the traditional Irish name for Waterford.

The pilot boat is scheduled to enter service by September 2021.
