Pilot boat incident injures three crew

The Milford Haven Port Authority has reported an incident between a pilot vessel and an LNG carrier which resulted in three crew being taken to hospital.

The pilot vessel St Davids collided with the carrier Lijmiliya in the early hours of July 10 during a routine transfer of pilot operation.

The impact resulted in three of the five Port of Milford Haven crew members who were on board at the time suffering injuries which were, “minor in nature but required hospital attention.”

The pilot vessel is said to have sustained significant damage however there was no pollution resulting from the incident and normal shipping operations have resumed.

The Port of Milford Haven has begun its investigation process into the exact cause of the incident.
