Tersan Shipyard to build two more ferries for Havila Kystruten

Tersan Shipyard has been awarded a contract by Norwegian operator Havila Kystruten for the supply of two additional sister vessels to two Ro-Pax ferries currently under construction.

Havila has decided that the future Havila Pollux and Havila Polaris will be constructed in Tersan’s Yalova City shipyard. This is the same facility where Havila Capella and Havila Castor are being completed in time for their scheduled launch in May 2020.

The vessels will serve a contract between Havila and the Norwegian Ministry of Transport that calls for the operation of four ferries along the Bergen-Kirkenes coastal route.

The 124- by 22-metre ferries were designed by Havyard Design and Solutions and will be powered by LNG and batteries.
