United Shipbuilding Corporation’s (USC) Nevsky Shipyard has begun conducting sea trials of the new Project PV22 ice-class Ro-Pax ferry Admiral Nevelskoy.

The trials are being carried out in Lake Ladoga to assess the performance of the two 1,800kW main engines that power the 75- by 16-metre vessel.

Upon delivery, Admiral Nevelskoy will be used by local operator Sakhalinlizingflot to transport 146 passengers plus vehicles and other cargo between Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands.
