Rosmorport launches new ferry route for rolling stock

Russia’s Rosmorport has established a new ferry route for the transportation of rolling cargo, railway cars, and passengers between the Kaliningrad and Leningrad regions.

The new service will provide a direct maritime route between the two regions, thus eliminating the need to transport rail cargo across the borders of other states.

The planned schedule will involve up to six two-way voyages per month between the ports of Ust-Luga and Baltiysk. The transit time will be about 40 hours depending on the actual sailing conditions.

The new service is expected to commence sailings before the end of this week.
