The Troms and Finnmark County Municipalities council of Norway has taken delivery of a new catamaran ferry from local builder Brodrene Aa.

Hollandaren has capacity for 73 passengers and a 19-metre lorry or eight cars. The vehicles and other cargo are loaded and unloaded with the aid of a crane on the aft deck as an alternative to the stern ramp.

The newbuild can sail at a service speed of 26 knots and operate in wave heights of up to four metres. Pop-up foam spray nozzles have also been installed to comply with stricter firefighting requirements that cover vehicle-transporting fast ferries.
