Norled to build hydrogen-electric Ro-Pax
Norled has won a contract to design, build, and operate a new hydrogen-electric Ro-Pax vessel that is expected to enter service in 2021.
Under the terms of the contract awarded by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, 50 per cent of the vessel’s energy requirement will be covered by hydrogen.
The vessel will operate along Norway’s Hjelmeland-Skipavik-Nesvik ferry route. It will be able to accommodate up to 299 passengers and 80 cars.
