Mitsubishi delivers Ro-Pax to Taiheiyo Ferry

The newbuild Ro-Pax vessel Kitakami, built by the shipbuilding division of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, has been delivered to Japanese operator Taiheiyo Ferry.

The 192.5- by 27-metre vessel then departed on its maiden voyage on Friday, January 25, when it began operating along Taiheiyo's Tomakomai-Sendai-Nagoya ferry route.

Kitakami can transport 700 guests and 147 vehicles at speeds of up to 24 knots.
