Kvarken Link hybrid ferry sold to Red Sea operator

Finnish/Swedish shipowner Kvarken Link has entered into an agreement to sell the ferry Wasa Express on private terms to UAE-based UME Shipping.

Wasa Express will be delivered to UME after the new ferry Aurora Botnia has entered into service on Kvarken Link’s route between Vaasa in Finland and Umeå in Sweden.

Once in service with UME, Wasa Express will be the first battery hybrid ferry to operate in the Red Sea.
