Isle of Man Steam Packet Company orders ferry from South Korean yard

PASSENGER VESSEL WEEK

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has placed an order for a new Ro-Pax ferry with South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD).

Construction is expected to commence in mid-2021 after detailed plans are finalised and agreed between the two parties.

The new vessel is scheduled to enter service in 2023 to replace the older ferry Ben-my-Chree.
