Incat Tasmania awarded catamaran newbuilding contract by Seaworld Express Ferry

PASSENGER VESSEL WEEK

Australian shipbuilder Incat Tasmania has received an order for a new high-speed vessel from South Korean coastal passenger transport company Seaworld Express Ferry.

The bespoke high-speed wave-piercing catamaran ferry will accommodate up to 700 passengers and 79 cars when it enters service on the new route between Jindo and Jeju in early 2022.

The vessel will be designed by Revolution Design of Tasmania. It will have a length of 75.7 metres, a beam of 20.6 metres, a draught of 2.35 metres, a deadweight of 300 tonnes, and a speed of 42 knots.
