South Korea’s GAS Entec has been contracted by Spain’s Sener for the basic design of a new 1,200-passenger Ro-Pax vessel for Tanzanian operator Kampuni ya Huduma za Meli.

The 90-metre vessel will sail operationally within Lake Victoria linking ports in Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya upon entering service.

It will have a steel hull, an aft cargo hold with one aft ramp door for vehicles and a smaller starboard side ramp door for cargo pallets, main deck space for vehicles and cargo, and four decks for passengers and crew.
