Fosen Yard tapped to complete unfinished Brittany Ferries Ro-Pax

PASSENGER VESSEL WEEK

Norwegian shipbuilder Fosen Yard and a subsidiary of local shipowner Siem Group have been awarded a contract to complete construction on an unfinished vessel that had originally been ordered by Brittany Ferries.

Work on the LNG-powered Ro-Pax ferry Honfleur had ceased after the newbuilding contract was terminated in the wake of German shipyard Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft’s (FSG) filing for bankruptcy earlier this year.

Honfleur‘s hull is presently being towed to Fosen’s facilities in Trøndelag county in central Norway. It is expected to arrive there before the end of October.
