DFDS to acquire Moby Ro-Pax pair

DFDS has entered into an agreement with Italian ferry company Moby for the acquisition of two combined freight and passenger vessels.

Moby Wonder and Moby Aki will sail under new names and will be operated along the Amsterdam-Newcastle route following their refurbishment.

The acquired vessels are expected to begin operations with DFDS during the first quarter of 2020.

Meanwhile, Moby will in turn acquire two DFDS passenger ferries currently operating on Amsterdam-Newcastle — King Seaways and Princess Seaways.

DFDS will subsequently bareboat-charter King Seaways and Princess Seaways from Moby until January and February 2020, respectively.
