BMT has been awarded a contract by Isles of Scilly Steamship Group (ISSG) for vessel design and consultancy services.

The vessels that will be supplied under the contract will be used to transport passengers and freight between the harbours of Penzance and St Mary’s, in addition to running an onward freight supply chain from St Mary’s to the off islands of St Martins, Tresco, Bryher and St Agnes.

The newbuildings will replace the 485-passenger ferry Scillonian III, which has been in service with ISSG since 1977.
