Austal Philippines begins building 115-metre ferry for Molslinjen
Austal Philippines recently held an aluminium plate-cutting ceremony to mark the start of construction of a newly designed high-speed vehicle-passenger catamaran for Danish ferry operator Molslinjen.
The Austal Australia-designed Express 5 will have a length of 115 metres, capacity for 1,610 passengers and up to 450 vehicles, and a speed of 37 knots. It will be powered by an LNG-capable engine.
Delivery is expected in 2022.
