Danish naval architecture firm OSK-ShipTech (OSK) will design a new 1,800-passenger Ro-Pax ferry for state-owned Algerian operator ENTMV.

To be built by China’s Guangzhou Shipyard International, the 200-metre vessel will have two accommodation decks and two decks that will hold more than 600 cars in 3,000 lane metres.

OSK has already started design work on the interiors and onboard facilities.

To be staffed by 180 crew members, the ferry will be propelled by four 10,800kW main engines and have a service speed of 24 knots.

The ferry will provide services between Algeria and several of southern Europe’s large cities, such as Marseille and Barcelona.
